For a very long time when my husband and I were first dating, he had huge issues with the messes I make seemingly everywhere I go. I'm a firm believer in making messes, because messes are what make the memories. Baking with my kids=mess, Scrapbooking=Mess, Crafting=Mess, Playing=Mess.
If I'm making a mess with my kids, it means I'm making memories with them. He is a neat freak, he likes everything in it's place and a place for everything. It's one of those very moments of opposites attract. We are the epitome of that. We couldn't be more opposite when it comes to that. Sometimes it seems he would rather stand at the kitchen sink and wash dishes because they need to be done instead of spending what I consider great family time. Don't get me wrong, I know the dishes need to be done, but I also know they aren't going anywhere. Our lives on the other hand, can be cut short in a minute notice. I'm trying to make the minutes count.
We spent a great deal of time arguing over it. He has succumbed to what is often a kitchen table full of craft supplies, or bubbles in the living room and often now just shakes his head and says "oh April"..... It's what I've created my tagline for a while now, "messes make memories" and how I justify my mess that he might not be so happy with. That's how I came up with the name of this blog.
It's time to get back to writing. Something I love and enjoy and gets things off my chest and out of my head. So welcome to Messes Make Memories. Stay tuned for many adventures of our messes.
